She was a resident at Brookside Village in Jasper. Homemaker. Memberships; St. Anthony Catholic Church - Christian Mothers Sodality of the church - St. Anthony Community Center - St. Anthony American Legion Auxiliary - St. Anthony Senior Citizen. She was born at Huntingburg, Indiana on July 12, 1927. Parents; Leo and Caroline (Vogler) Pfaff. Married to Linus G. Welp on October 12, 1948 - he preceded her in death on April 12, 2003. Surviving are 2 sons; John B. and Joseph A. Welp both of St. Anthony, IN 3 daughters; Jane McCann, Logansport, IN Mrs. Ken “Judy” Lamkin, St. Anthony, IN Mrs. Mark “Jackie” Marlow, Victoria, TX 4 grandchildren; Erin McCann, Todd Lamkin, Carrie Lamkin and Alexandra Marlow. 1 brother; Harold Pfaff, Chicago, IL 1 sister; Medo Eckerle, Jasper, IN, Preceding her in death besides her husband are 1 brother; Vincent Pfaff. Funeral services for Vangie Welp will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (August 30, 2003) at St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Becher - Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Friday by the St. Anthony American Legion Auxiliary and other members of St. Anthony Parish. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church.
