He was born July 13, 1926 in Jasper to: Peter and Mary Barbara (Wigand) Klem. He married Mary J. Monroe October 2, 1948. He workedfor the Jasper Laundry and Othmar Klem Furniture Company-retired, after retirement he worked for the Providence Home Nursing Center in Jasper. He was a WW2 Army Veteran, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville IN. Surviving: his wife Mary J. Klem of Kyana 4 sons_Mike Klem of St. Anthony, John and Don Klem both of Kyana, and Kenny Klem of Lebanon OH. 6 daughters- Mrs. Jerald (Patricia) Lane, Mrs. Robert Diane L. (Wahl) Blume both of Kyana, Mrs. Paul (Margaret) Gehlhausen of Celestine, Mrs. Paul (Susan) White of Pratteville AL., Mrs. Mark (Becky) Sparrow of Ireland, Mrs. Greg (Bonnie) Painter of Huntingburg 3 brothers- Lawrence of Jasper, William of Washington, and Basil Klem of Fountain Valley CA. 1 sister- Mrs. John (Anna Mae) Curtis of Courde Lane Idaho. 24 Grandchildre3 Step Grandchildren 9 Great Grandchildren 3 Step Great Grandchildren Preceded in death by 4 brothers-August, Charles, Robert, and Edwin Klem. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. There will be a Prayer Vigil by Sacred Heart Parish at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville In. With burial to follow in the church cemetery.
