Freyberger, age 72 of Ireland, Indiana passed away 8:25 p.m. Monday (June 6, 2011) at his home from complications of ALS. He was born in Boone Township, Indiana on July 24, 1938 to Henry and Mildred (Buchta) Freyberger. He married Marie Sendelweck on June 14, 1962 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. Rich was a farmer and was employed by Ireland Feed and Grain as a Turkey Field Supervisor until 2003. He was also a sales representative for Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc., for 42 years. He was a life long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he previously held offices of president , secretary, treasurer and elder. Rich was also a member of the Ireland Fire Department for 26 years and one of the originating First Responders of the department. He was a Charter Member of the Ireland Lions Club and a member of the Ireland Sportsman Club where he held numerous offices. Rich was active in the Ireland Little League program where he coached his son’s for many years. Surviving, Wife, Marie Freyberger Sons, Scott Freyberger and spouse Debbie, Elizabethtown, KY Douglas Freyberger and spouse Julie, Newburgh, IN. Grandchildren, Austin and Noah Freyberger, Kyle, Nicholas and Nathan Freyberger and Maria Pickens. Mother, Mildred Baer, Jasper, IN One brother, Larry Freyberger and spouse Judy, Jasper, IN Step- Sister, Nancy Baer, Jasper, IN Step-brother, Tim Baer and spouse Judy, Jasper, IN Preceding him in death are two grandchildren Laura and Henry Freyberger. Funeral services for Rich Freyberger will be held at 11:00a.m. Friday (June 10, 2011) in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery. The Rev. Catherine Burnette will officiate. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Thursday (June 9, 2011) at the Becher & Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 8-10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday by the IN Volunteer Fire fighters Association District # 18 and the Ireland Volunteer Fire Department at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church – ALS Association of Indiana – Southern Care Hospice and Palliative Care of Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
