Brames age 87 of Jasper died at 12:58 a.m. today (Wednesday August 27, 2003) in the Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. Membership; Holy Family Catholic Church and the Blessed Virgin Sodality of the church. She belonged to a Tuesday afternoon Bowling league also enjoyed playing cards. She was born at Jasper, Indiana on September 4, 1915. Parents; Henry and Elizabeth (Heiler) Brames. She was the last surviving member of her family; surviving are nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are 3 brothers and 7 sisters; Joseph, Bernard and William Brames and Sr. Mary Henry Brames SP, Hilda Beckman, Martina Jahn, Gertrude Beyke, Clara Beckman, Theresa Brames and Louise Brames. Funeral services for Mary Brames will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (August 30, 2003) in Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Becher - Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Friday by the Blessed Virgin Sodality and a Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday by members of Holy Family Parish at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
