Fisher age 71 of Haysville, Indiana died at 12:45 a.m. today (August 26, 2004) in the Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born on August 17, 1933 at Dubois, Indiana, his parents Frank (Sam) and Anna (Nigg) Fisher. He married Maryann L. Schnarr on September 8, 1956 at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. A Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. Donald Fisher retired from JOFCO and previously worked for Jasper Chicago (Clairmont Transfer) for 28 years. He was very active in Christ Lutheran Church, he was a former Sunday School teacher, superintendant, church president and church treasurer. Charter member of the Haysville Ruritan and was an avid wood craftsman and furniture builder. Surviving is his wife Maryann. 2 daughters; Mrs. Charles “Diana” J. Rackley Mrs. James “Anissa” M. Troxal both of Haysville, IN 3 sons, Steven R. Fisher, Evansville, IN David C. Fisher, Haysville, IN Mark J. Fisher, Jasper, IN 6 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren and 1 step great granddaughter. 2 brothers; Wellmert “Sam” Fisher, Indianapolis, IN William “Bill” Fisher, Dubois, IN Preceding him in death are 5 brothers, Edwin, David, Robert, Kenneth and Dennis Fisher and 4 sisters; Clara , Bernice (Bunn) Fisher, Agnes Watson and Rose Fisher died in infancy. Funeral services for Donald L. Fisher will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (August 29, 2004) in Christ Lutheran Church with burial to follow in Community Cemetery in Haysville. The Rev. Timothy Kraemer will officiate. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct military Grave Side Rites. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Saturday at the Becher - Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at Christ Lutheran Church on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or to a favorite charity.
