She was born September 7, 1920 at Ireland, Indiana to Andrew and Fidelia (Hurst) Goeppner. She married Anthony V. Haas on February 22, 1943 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Ireland, Indiana. Bertha was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church – St. Ann’s Society and the Auxiliary to Post # 673 in Jasper. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Surviving, Husband, Anthony (Tony) Haas 2 daughters, Shirley Vonderheide, Jasper, IN Mrs. Martin (Kathleen) Holman Jr., Bristow, IN 2 sons, Herb Haas and his spouse Kathy, Jasper, IN Jerry Haas and his spouse Marilyn, Washington, IN 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren 1 sister, Marcella Fleck, Ireland, IN 3 brothers, Anthony Goeppner, Ray Goeppner both Jasper, IN Emil Goeppner, Ireland, IN Preceding her in death are 1 grandson, Keith Allen Vonderheide, 1 brother, Herbert Goeppner and 2 sisters who died in infancy. Funeral services for Bertha Haas will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday (June 22, 2010)in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Monday by the St. Ann’s Society. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper or to a favorite charity.
