She was born in Jasper, Indiana, on May 5, 1925 to Leo and Florentine (Merkley) Blessinger. She married Charles L. Wehr on September 15, 1945 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, he preceded her in death on August 17, 1978. Rose Marie Wehr was retired from Aristokraft where she worked for 20 years. She is a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Saint Anthony. Christian Mothers Sodality, St. Anthony American Legion Auxiliary and the Ladies Church quilters and the 800 Club, Dubois County Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Jasper High School Class of 1943. She enjoyed gardening and quilting and playing cinch. Surviving are 6 daughters, Mrs. Birnie (Marjorie) Jeffries Mrs. John (Eileen) Schnieders Mrs. Jason (Kaddy) Merkel all of Saint Anthony, IN Mrs. John (Julie) Gutgsell Mrs. Mike (Ann) Hassfurther both of Jasper, IN Mrs. Glenn (Barb) Becher, AZ 4 sons, John Wehr, Mark Wehr and Leon Wehr and Paul Wehr all of Saint Anthony, IN 23 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren 3 brothers, Paul O. Blessinger, Leo V. (Junie) Blessinger and Eugene (Lenny) Blessinger all Jasper, IN 1 sister, Georgina (Jeanie) Leinenbach, Jasper, In Bernice Miller, Durate, Ca Preceding her in death besides her husband is 1 son, Ernie Wehr. Also preceding her in death are 2 sisters, Lucille Ambs, Dorothy Burke . and 2 brothers, Conrad Blessinger and Edwin Blessinger. Funeral services for Rose Marie Wehr will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday (February 27, 2009) in Saint Anthony Catholic Church with burial to follow in Saint Anthony Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday (February 26, 2009) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. by the Christian Mother’s and the St. Anthony American Legion Auxiliary at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery Fund.
