Becher-Kluesner Funeral Homes, Inc. 812-482-4141 FAX 812-482-1193 Dateline Jasper, Indiana Rose Ann Kuper age 73 of Jasper died on Tuesday May 2, 2006 at the Ruth Lilly Yellow Rose Hospice Unit in Indianapolis, Indiana with her children by her side. She had fought a valiant battle with lung cancer. Rose Ann was born July 12, 1932 in Jasper to Ferdinand and Coletta (Daeschle) Hoffman. She married Nestor (Bud) Kuper October 1, 1955, he preceded her in death January 30, 1986 after 30 years of marriage. Rose Ann Kuper is survived by her children, 2 sons and 3 daughters; Doug Kuper, Chicago, IL Glen Kuper and spouse Mary, Mt. Vernon, IN Ann Kuper, Indianapolis, IN Jean Zupan and spouse Mark, Avon, IN Christine Reynolds and spouse David, Columbia, MO Sister, Mrs. Gilbert (Catherine) Verkamp, Jasper, IN Brothers, Thomas A. Hoffman, Ann Arbor, MI George Hoffman, Haubstadt, IN Andrew Hoffman, Cincinnati, OH Ambrose Hoffman, Jasper, IN She has six grandchildren Charlie and Andy Kuper, Megan and Craig Zupan, Alison and Lauren Reynolds, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is her granddaughter Amanda Kuper. A member of the Jasper High School Class of 1950, Rose Ann was in the stands to witness Jasper’s State Basketball Championship in 1949. Early in her Life, she worked at Wilson Drug Store and later at HRJ Automotive and Kimball Electronics, retiring in 2003. She was an avid sports fan, bridge player and gardener. Rose Ann was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church for 44 years, member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality of Holy Family Parish, V.F.W.Ladies Auxiliary and the Little Kentucky Homemakers Club. She was a past volunteer tutor for special needs children at local grade schools. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday (May 5, 2006) in Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel, 214 E. 7th Street., Jasper. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Thursday by the Blessed Virgin Sodality and a Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral home.
