Dateline Jasper: Roman A. Buechlein age 71 of Jasper passed away at 6:30 A.M. Monday May 30, 2005 at Jasper Memorial Hospital. He was born February 18, 1934 in Jasper to : Joseph and Philomena (Knust) Buechlein. He married Viola Egbert June 17, 1989. He worked for Indiana Furniture Company for 46 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and he was a Tank Gunner in the Army, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. Surviving: his wife of 16 years-Viola Buechlein of Jasper. 2 stepsons-Bob Fuhrman Jr. of Jasper, and Jeff Fuhrman of Anchorage Alaska. 3 stepdaughters-Deb Fleck of French Lick, Mrs. Ron (Cindy) Neukam of Haysville, and Mrs. Ray (Pamela) Bolin of Winslow. 1 brother- Dennis “Pink” Buechlein of Jasper. Nieces and nephews 8 stepgrandchildren 1 step great grandson Preceded in death by 1 brother- Clarence Buechlein, 1 step grandchild Nathan Fleck Visitation will be held from 1:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. St. Joseph Parish will have a Prayer service at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 A.M. Thursday June 2, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with entombment in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. The VFW Post 673 will conduct the Military Grave Side Rites. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
