Bair age 86 of Dubois, Indiana died at 10:30 a.m. Monday (April 7, 2008) at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. He was born at Dubois, Indiana on February 5, 1922 to Martin and Anna (Bauernfiend) Bair. He married Albertine Schroering on June 29, 1946 - she preceded him in death on July 13, 2002. Ralph Bair is a WWII Navy Veteran and a retired employee from the Jasper Engine Exchange where he had worked for over 50 years. He is a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Dubois – V.F.W. Post # 673. Surviving are 5 daughters; Mrs. Joe (Cheryl) Lents, Boca Raton, FL Mrs. Stephen (Pam) Cave, French Lick, IN Mrs. John (Marilyn) Seger, Huntingburg, IN Denise Bair, Indpls, IN Mrs. Fred (Mary) Hoffman, Jasper, IN 10 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren 1 brother, Oscar Bair, Dubois, IN 1 sister, Mary Ann Fuhrman, Jasper, IN Also surviving are nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his wife is 1 son Michael who died on June 4, 1967 and 1 grandson, Daniel Ryan Seger also 1 brother, Wilfred Bair and 2 sisters Pauline Freyberger, Louise Meyer Funeral services for Ralph Bair will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday (April 11, 2008) in St. Raphael Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Raphael Cemetery in Dubois. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct military grave side rites. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday (April 10, 2008) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Raphael Catholic Church or to Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.
