Neukam age 84 formerly of Dubois, Indiana died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday (June 11, 2003) at the Professional Care and Rehab Center at Dale, Indiana. He was a WW II Army Veteran and was in the Poultry Farming. Memberships; St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads. V.F.W. Post # 673. Born at Dubois, Indiana on July 26, 1918. Parents; Ben J. and Anna Hemmerlein Neukam. Married to Nettie Mae Bair on November 17, 1945 - she preceded him in death on April 22, 1993. Surviving are 1 daughter and 1 son; Mrs. Steve “Judith Ann” Merkel, Santa Claus, IN Eugene (Linda) Neukam, Maple Grove, MN 4 grandchildren; Brett Merkel, Ashlee Vinson (Breck) Jill Neukam (Chris), Emma (Derek) Fuerstenberg 1 step sister; Ruth Lucas, Indianapolis, IN Preceding him in death besides his wife are; 1 son Larry P. Neukam 1 brother who died in infancy. Funeral services for Oscar C. Neukam will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Tom Roberts will officiate. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct Military Grave Side Rites. Friends may call from 2- 8 p.m. Friday at the Becher - Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church.
