She was born at Jasper, Indiana on September 11, 1920 to Henry and Cecelia (Reyling) Kress. She married George W. Parker in St. Joseph Catholic Church, he preceded her in death on September 14, 1969. Mildred Parker was a dental assistant for Dr. Metzger and also worked in a local retail store for several years. She was a graduate of Jasper High School Class of 1938. She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church – Daughters of Isabella – V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, Reading and Crocheting and had a passion for music, playing the paino and the organ. She played the bassoon in the high school orchestra also playing the saxophone in the marching band. Surviving are 5 daughters; Mrs. William P. (Nancy) Mosley, McEwen, TN Mrs. James A. Bullock, Cannelburg, IN Mrs. Lyle N. (Brenda) Schaus Mrs. Randy (Linda) Lueken and Mrs. Kevin (Barb) Blessinger all of Jasper, IN 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren 1 sister, C. Mae Ploetner, Jasper, IN Preceding her in death besides her husband are 1 brother, Bobby Kress; 3 sisters; Viola Kress, Hilda Cockerel and Dorothy Horney. Funeral services for Mildred Parker will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday (June 2, 2008) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Friends may call from 11-8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Sunday by the D of I’s and a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. by the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Memorial contributions may be made to St . Jude’s Children hospital -The March of Dimes or a favorite charity.
