Brosmer age 78 of Celestine died at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2003) in St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born at Celestine, Indiana on March 26, 1925. Her parents; Leo B. and Margaret (Nordhoff) Eckert. She married Roman G. Brosmer on May 20, 1947 - he preceded her in death on September 16, 1983. She retired from Aristokraft in Celestine also was a former Avon Sales Representative. Memberships include; St. Peter Celestine Catholic Church - St. Ann’s of the church and Celestine Community Club. She enjoyed raising Orchids, Rose Gardening and piecing quilts. Surviving are 3 sons; Michael Brosmer, Jasper, IN Jim Brosmer, Nashville, TN John Brosmer, Sacred Heart School of Theology, Hales Corner, WI 5 daughters; Mrs. Allen “Chris” Schuetter, Mrs. Michael “Kathy” Bachman, both of Jasper, IN Mrs. Tom “ Ann” Weyer, Ferdinand, IN Laura Knies, Celestine, IN Mrs Eric “Rachel “ Hilligoss, Greenfield, IN 16 grandchildren ; Abby, Bethany, Kenwyn, Lauren, Ross, Lindsey, Kate and Dr. Jared Brosmer, Eric and Emily Schuetter, Natalie,Olivia and Joel Weyer, Maria Bachman, Courtney Knies, Katherine Hilligoss. 1 great granddaughter Sophia Brosmer. 3 sisters; Ardella Pieper, Dubois, IN -Mrs. Kenny “Dorothy” Schepers, Huntingburg, IN - Mrs. Norbert “Rita” Schroering, Jasper, IN Preceding her in death besides her husband are 1 brother, Victor F. Eckert and 1 sister, Frieda Eckert died in infancy and 1 grandson Nicholas Knies. Funeral services for Marie Brosmer will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter Celestine Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Peter Celestine Cemetery at Celestine, Indiana. Friends may call from Noon - 8 p.m. Friday at the Becher - Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Prayer Vigil will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday by members of St. Peter Celestine Parish.
