Gadlage age 89 of Celestine died at 2:00 a.m. today, Tuesday (April 20, 2004) at the Northwood Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Jasper, Indiana. She was born on April 6, 1915 at Celestine, Indiana. Her parents were Martin and Anna (Riepensell) Sander. She married Roman Gadlage on November 29, 1945 and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1992. She was a homemaker and worked for Aristokraft Cabinets for 17 years. She was a member of St. Peter Celestine Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Society of the church – Celestine Community Club. Surviving are 2 sons and 4 daughters; Bernard Gadlage, Celestine, IN David Gadlage, Ocala, FL Mrs. Donald ”Kathleen” Schnell, Celestine, IN Mrs. Arrol “Linda” Jacobs, Overland Park, KS Mrs. John “Christine” Kluemper, Jasper, IN Mrs. Bryan “Mary Sue” Bledsoe, Morgantown, WV 12 grandchildren 1 great grand son and 1 step great grand son. 1 brother, Victor Sander, Celestine, IN 1 sister, Bertha Schuch, Jasper, IN Preceding her in death besides her husband are Quintuplets born in 1948. Also 2 sisters, Frieda Mundy and Veronica Haase. Funeral services for Marie Gadlage will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday (April 23, 2004) in St. Peter Celestine Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Peter Celestine Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher – Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Prayer Vigil will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home by members of St. Peter Celestine Parish. Memorial contribution may be made to St. Peter Celestine Church.
