Becher – Kluesner Funeral Home, Inc. 812-482-4141 Dateline Jasper, Indiana Marcella M. Fritz age 88 of Jasper died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday (March 6, 2004) at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born at Celestine, Indiana on November 1, 1915. Her parents were George and Catherine (Schnell) Mathias. She married George S. Fritz on May 28, 1940 at St. Peter Celestine Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2001. She formerly worked at the Providence Home in Jasper. She was an avid quilter and donated many quilts to Holy Family Church. She was a homemaker and member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Blessed Virgin Ladies Sodality of the church – Daughters of Isabaella and the St. Ann’s Society and the Baninbridge Home Economics Club. V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary – American Legion Post Auxiliary. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Richard “Carol” Parson, Jasper, IN Mrs. Garry “Judy” Cagle, Apoka, FL 4 sons, Dennis and Richard Fritz, Jasper, IN Allen Fritz, Huntingburg, IN Ronald Fritz, Bellville, IL 6 grandchildren 2 step grandchildren 4 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. 3 sister, Rosetta Rees and Rita Basch, both of Indianapolis, In. and Betty Striegel, Louisville, KY Preceding her in death besides her husband are 4 brothers, Ralph, Herbert Arnold & Austin Mathias and 1 sister, Henrietta Persohn. Funeral services for Marcella Fritz will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (March 10, 2004) in Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher- Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday by the D of I’s and the St. Ann’s Society. Prayer Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday by members of Holy Family Parish. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Church or to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
