Jahn age 80 of St. Anthony passed away at 10:35 p.m. Thursday December 18, 2003 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. He was born October 15, 1923 in St. Anthony to: John and Theresia (Bonifer) Jahn. He married Janelia “Janie” Kappner August 9, 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntingburg. He worked for Aristokraft as a foreman retired. He then worked for Walmart for 13 years.He was Trustee of Jackson Township for 28 years. Memberships include:YMI, St. Anthony Community Center, St. Anthony Senior Citizens, and he served on the Board of the St. Anthony Water Utility. Surviving: his wife Janelia “Janie” Jahn of St. Anthony 2 sons- Steve of Jasper, and Mark of St. Anthony 1 daughter-Karen Jahn of St. Anthony 1 brother- Ray Jahn of Huntingburg 2 sisters-Mrs. Ernest (Catherine) Knust of Ferdinand, and Lucille Jahn of Ferdinand. Preceded in death by 6 brothers-Frank, Otto, Hilbert, Othmar, Clement, and Leo Jahn, 2 sisters-Clara Bromm, and Leona Payne. Visitation will be held from 11:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. There will be a Prayer Service by St. Anthony Parish at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday December 22, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
