Dateline Jasper: Leona Marks age 99 of Jasper passed away at 10:40 P.M. Tuesday July 13, 2004 at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born April 24, 1905 in Jasper to: Lawrence and Margaret (Betz) Hochgesang. She married Hugo Hanselman, he passed away March 9, 1942. She then married George Marks August 10, 1957, he passed away March 30, 2002. She was employed for many years at the Jasper Wood Products-Retired. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the St. Anns Society, and the D of I Sodality. Surviving: 1 son Larry Hanselman of Jasper 2 daughters-Phyllis Gerber and Mrs. Larry (Dianne) Klein both of Jasper. 1 brother-Hilbert “Butch” Hochgesang of Jasper. 14 Grandchildren 16 Great Grandchildren 4 Step Great Grandchildren Preceded in death besides her husbands are 3 brothers-Edwin, Otto, and Wilfred, Hochgesang, 2 sisters-Loraine “Hokey” Thieman and Dora Basch. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. There will be a combined Rosary by St. Joseph parish, St. Anns Society, and the D of I Sodality at 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 A.M. Friday July 16, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
