Dateline Dubois: Leo J. Mehringer age 78 of Dubois passed away at 1:20 P.M. Tuesday September 7, 2004 at the St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. He was born September 11, 1925 in Dubois Indiana to: John and Caroline (Schmitt) Mehringer. He married Mary Ann Kunz August 26, 1948. He was a Farmer in the Dubois area and He was manager of Ireland Reload for 11 years-retired. Surviving: his wife Mary Ann Mehringer of Dubois. 3 sons-Allan of Jasper, Larry and Tim Mehringer both of Dubois. 3 daughters- Mrs. Bill (Marcia) Stetter of Dubois, Mrs. John (Suzan) Alles of Duff, and Mrs. Don (Lea Ann) Vonderheide of Dubois. 1 brother-Victor Mehringer of Cincinnati OH. 2 sisters- Florence Sweeney of Middletown OH., and Mary DeKemper of Ireland. 15 Grandchildren 2 great Grandchildren Preceded in death by 4 brothers-Silas, Lucas, Emil, and Claude Mehringer, 3 sisters-Leona Schwartz, Marcella Fleck, and Catherine Dotterweich. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. There will be a Parish Rosary at 4:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday September 10, 2004 at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Dubois with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The VFW Post 673 will conduct the military grave side rites. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Raphael Catholic Church or National Kidney Foundation.
