Becher - Kluesner Funeral Home, Inc. 812-482-4141 Dateline Dubois, Indiana Johnnie Melvin Meyer age 48 of Woodstock GA and formerly of Dubois, Indiana passed away on Sunday February 20, 2005 of natural causes. He lived in Woodstock since 1988. He was a 1975 graduate of Dubois High School. He graduated from South Eastern Illinois Jr. College, Harrisburg, and attended St. Bernards College in Cullman, Alabama on a baseball scholarship. he was a member of the Junior College World Series Team and a member of the Junior College All Star Team as a catcher in 1977. He married Valarie Dawn Shuler, daughter of Howard and Jewell Shuler, of West Carrolton, OH, on May 25th, 1979 Surviving; his wife, Valarie Dawn Meyer, of Woodstock, Ga 1 daughter, Danie Jelyn Meyer of Woodstock 1 son, Matthew Meyer of Woodstock 3 brothers, Richard, Greg and Keith Meyer all of Dubois. Preceding him in death are 1 brother Randall Meyer, his parents, Cletus and Evelyn (Street) Meyer. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday (February 25, 2005) at the Becher - Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Funeral services for Johnnie Melvin Meyer will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (February 26, 2005) at the St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Faith Jenson will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to establish a Trust Fund for Johnnie’s children.
