Weisman, age 75 of Boone Township in Dubois Co, passed away at 10:08 a.m. Friday (January 3, 2014) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, IN. John was born on November 22, 1938 in Boone Township in Dubois County to Alfred and Viola (Thimling) Weisman. John was a farmer and also drove trucks for various trucking companies. He also worked for Armstrong Implement Company at the Y in Jasper. He was a 1956 graduate of Ireland High School, and a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel School. He was an Army Veteran, and a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township, where he served in various council positions for the church. He was a member and past director of the Ireland Sportsman’s Club, and was a member of the Jasper Moose. He enjoyed playing sheephead, fishing, mushroom hunting, and was an avid Dodger’s fan. Surviving, Two Sisters, Marlene Mann and her husband John, Dubois, IN Barbara Mosby and her husband Jerry, Troy, IN Four Brothers, Charles Weisman and his wife LaVerne, Boone Township, IN David Weisman and his wife Susan, Boone Township, IN Radius W. Weisman and his wife Rebecca L., Jasper, IN Martin Weisman and his companion Kimberle, Bloomington, IN Nieces and Nephews Preceding John in death were his parents. Funeral services for John Weisman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (January 8, 2014) at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township IN, with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Pastor Catherine Burnette will officiate. The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military gravesite rites. Friends may call from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, (January 7, 2014) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. The Jasper Moose will perform a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, or a favorite charity.
