Dateline St. Anthony IN. Harold C. Welp age 67 of St. Anthony passed away at 4:50 p.m. Friday August 22, 2003 at his home after a short illness. He was born February 25, 1936 in St. Anthony to: Louis and Marie (Persohn) Welp. He married Esther Jochem November 8, 1958. He was a Truck Mechanic at Ruxer Ford in Jasper for 42 years-Retired. Memberships include: St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony Legion Post 493, Korean War Veteran, member of the St, Anthony Community Club, past advisory board member of Dubois County Bank and Jackson Township, Past Director of St. Anthony Community Center. Surviving: his wife Esther Welp of St. Anthony. 2 sons-Keith and Jeff Welp both of St. Anthony 1 daughter-Mrs. Mark (Terri) Vaal of Huntingburg his mother-Marie Bieker of St. Anthony 1 brother-John Bieker of St. Anthony 3 sisters-Mrs. Jim (Bonnie) Knies and Katie Bieker both of St. Anthony, and Marlene Jacob of Huntingburg 7 Grandchildren Preceded in death by his father Louis Welp, and Step Father-John Bieker Sr. Visitation will be held from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. There will be a Rosary by St. Anthony Parish at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Monday. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday August26, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The St. Anthony American Legion Post 493 will conduct the military Grave Side Rites. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Anthony Catholic Church or St. Joseph Hospice
