Gramelspacher age 73 of Jasper died of Cancer at 1:00 a.m. Thursday (June 12, 2003) in the Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was a Korean Air Force Veteran where he served as a Classified/Combat Photographer during the war. He was a graduate of Jasper High School 1948 - Awarded the Indiana Outstanding Tree Farmer for the year 2001. He was Past Secretary - Treasurer and Sales Manager of the Jasper Wood Products where he retired after 41 years also general manager of the Dubois County Beverage Company. He was past president of the Jasper Jaycees - was a recipient of the Jaycees (Boss of the year award , served as Deputy District Governor of the Lion’s Club - Hardwood/Plywood Manufactures Association . Memberships; St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served on the parish council and was finance committeeman and an usher for many years. - 4th Degree Knight of Columbus - Served as Finance Chairman for the Boy Scouts - American Legion Post # 147 - Dubois County Museum - Dubois County Historical Society - Dubois County Right to Life - Life member of both the Purdue Alumni Association and Sigma Chi Fraternity - 40 et 8 Voiture 813 - Serra Club - Born in Jasper, Indiana on December 28, 1929. Parents; Clarence U. and Marie (Jerger) Gramelspacher. Married to Rosemarie Berg on May 24, 1952. Surviving are his wife Rosemarie. 2 daughters; Adrienne (Mrs. David “Slick”) Webber Adair (Mrs. Gary) McPherson, both of Indianapolis, IN 3 sons; Dr. Curt Gramelspacher Dr. Craig Gramelspacher both of Jasper, IN Clark Gramelspacher, Indianapolis, IN 2 sisters; Rose Marie (Mrs. Jack) Newton Donna Beiter, both of Jasper, IN 8 Grandchildren. Preceding him in death are a twin brother James who died in infancy and 1 brother George Gramelspacher who died in infancy. Funeral services for Eugene J. Gramelspacher will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (June 14, 2003) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. American Legion Post # 147 will conduct Military Grave Side Rites. Friends may call from 3- 8 p.m. Friday at the Becher - Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church building Fund - Pallative Care of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center - Dubois County Right to Life - American Cancer and the American Heart Association.
