Seng age 78 of Jasper died at 9:26 a.m. Friday (August 8, 2008) in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born at Jasper, Indiana on March 22, 1930 to John Obermeier and Ida Magdalene Brinkman. She married Colie Seng on January 12, 1952, he preceded her in death June 13, 1992. Esther retired from Northeast Dubois School Corporation where she worked in facilities department. She is member of St. Joseph Catholic Church - Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann’s Society and the V.F.W. Auxiliary to Post # 673. Surviving is 1 daughter, Mrs. James (Mary Kaye) Stetter, Huntingburg, IN 2 granddaughters; Gail Stetter and Dawn Stetter 4 great grandchildren 2 sisters; Rosina Friedman and Alberta Obermeier both of Jasper, IN 1 brother, Albert Obermeier, Waterloo, IA Preceding her in death besides her husband is 1 brother Jerome Obermeier. Funeral services for Esther M. Seng wil be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (August 11, 2008) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. by the D of I’s and the St. Ann’s Society at the funeral home and a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. by the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
