E. Louis Roelle Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dateline Jasper: E. Louis Roelle age 76 of Jasper passed away at 5:15 p.m. Friday December 19, 2003 at his home in Jasper. He was born November 16, 1927 at Annapolis Maryland to: Eligius Louis Roelle Sr. and Josephine Boswell. He married Rose Marie Schwenk May 17, 1952 at St. Joseph Parish. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 147, Masonic Line Lodge# 743, the K of C, the National Rural Carriers Association, and the Indiana Rural Carriers Association. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1945 and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. He retired in 1983 from the Jasper Post Office after a total of 38 years of government service. He was a very active volunteer in the Jasper area. Surviving: his wife Rose Marie Roelle of Jasper. 2 sons-Ed and John G. Roelle both of Jasper 3 daughters-Mrs. Earl (Jo) Hulsman of Jasper, Mrs. Kurt (Margaret) Brescher of Ireland, and Mary Roelle of Indianapolis 3 sisters-May Velenovski, Catherine “Kitty” Kirby, and June Donaldson all of Annapolis Maryland. 5 Grandchildren 2 stepgrandchildren 1 Great grandson 4 step great grandchildren Preceded in death by 1 step grandson Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. There will be a Prayer Service by Precious Blood Parish at 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday December 23, 2003 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
