He was born at Cannelton, Indiana on September 7, 1933 to David and Lena (Henning) Davis, Married to Doreatha (Dee) Fromme on February 13, 1954 in St. Celestine Catholic Church. Dennis L. Davis retired from the Army National Guard of Indiana as a Master Sergeant and served during the Desert Storm Era. He was currently Commander of the American Legion Post # 147 in Jasper and was serving as the treasurer of the Disabled American Veterans Organization. His memberships include Holy Family Catholic Church- 4th Degree Knight of Columbus – Jasper Moose Club #1175 He served on the Honor Guard for the American Legion Military Funeral Detachment and drove the Disabled American Van .. He loved traveling, playing cards and Fishing. Surviving is his wife Doreatha (Dee) Davis 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Joni) Galletly, Franklin Lakes, NJ Kim McGill, Maumelle, AR 6 sons, David L. Davis, Bloomington, IN Joseph A. Davis, Evansville, IN Phillip D. Davis, Norfolk, VA (USN) Vincent E. Davis, Anderson Air Force Base, Guam James A. Davis and Neil A. Davis both of Jasper, IN 15 grandchildren 3 step grandchildren 1 great grandchild Preceding him in death besides his parents is 1 grandson Brandon Davis. Funeral services for Dennis L. Davis will be held at 10;00 a.m. Wednesday (March 21, 2007) in Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. American Legion Post # 147 will conduct Military Grave Side Rites. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday (March 20, 2007) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Prayer Vigil will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday by Holy Family Parish and Memorial service at 6:00 p.m. by the DAV. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Community Foundation to be used for the Veteran Organizations, Holy Family Catholic Church or to St. Celestine Catholic Church.
