Neukam age 84 of Dubois died at 1:10 a.m. Friday (November 2, 2007) at the Brookside Village in Jasper. He was born at Dubois, Indiana on June 24, 1923 to David J. and Emily (Neukam) Neukam. Married to Luetta L. Kieffner on June 25, 1944 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Haysville. Delcas Neukam a WWII Army Veteran and retired U.S. Postal mail carrier for 34 years at Dubois. He is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Haysville,- V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper- Served on the V.F.W. Honor Guard for Military Funerals for 10 years- and served as past Post Commander of the V.F.W Post # 673 - Past President of the Indiana Chapter of the National Rural Letter Carrier Association – also served as the state steward for the association . Member of Senior Citizens of Haysville. He enjoyed Square Dancing and Traveling. Surviving His Wife Luetta 2 daughters, Donna Denbo, French Lick, IN Carol Ashcraft, Jasper, GA 1 son, Dan Neukam, Carmel, IN 7 Grandchildren; Robert E. Denbo, Marcy D. Greger, Stacy R. Jent, Stephanie M. Belknap, Emily J. Sills, Melissa A. and Danielle E. Neukam also 7 great grandchildren 1 sister, Mrs. Leroy (Iona) Schnarr, Jasper, IN Funeral services for Delcas Neukam will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (November 5, 2007) in St. Paul Lutheran Church with burial to follow in St. Paul Cemetery in Haysville. The Rev. Dwayne Daehler will officiate. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct Military Grave Side rites. Friends may call from 11-7 p.m. Sunday (November 4, 2007) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Alzheimer Foundation or to the Delcas and Luetta Neukam Scholarship Foundation to Northeast Dubois High School .
