Dateline Jasper: Anthony “Tony” Hasenour age 81 of Jasper formerly of St. Anthony passed away at 2:45 P.M. Saturday September 18, 2004 at his home after a long illness. He was born July 15, 1923 in St. Anthony to: Anthony A. and Antoinette (Hochgesang) Hasenour. He married Rosetta Knies April 23, 1949. He worked for Hasenour Motor Company in St. Anthony for 23 years and then owned and operated Tony”s Radiator Service in Huntingburg for 25 years. He was a WW2 Army Veteran of the Pacific Theater, Member of the Huntingburg VFW Post 2366, American Legion Post 493 of St. Anthony, YMI of Huntingburg, St. Anthony Catholic Church, Jackson TWP Trustee from 1954-1962, Dubois County Councilman at Large from 1966-1974, Charter member and President of St. Anthony Community Center, Charter Member and President and organizer of the St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Dept., Chief of Civil Defense, part time Deputy Sheriff from 1960-1975, Democratic Delegate to the State Convention in 1964, Represenetive for Becher & Kluesner Funeral Home for St. Anthony Church for 30 years, member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Surviving: his wife Rosetta Hasenour of Jasper. 5 sons- Anthony B., and Mark Hasenour both of Jasper, Larry of Patoka IN., Patrick of Huntingburg, and Kevin Hasenour of Fulsomville. 3 daughters-Mrs. Keith (Michelle) Burger of Jasper, Mrs. Jim (Cindy) McGookey of Huntingburg, and Mrs. Leonard (Mary) Steffen of Montrose CO. 2 brothers- Maurice and Vincent Hasenour both of St. Anthony 1 sister-Marguerite Hoffman of St. Anthony 18 Grandchildren 6 Great Grandchildren Preceeded in death besides his parents is 1 brother-Justin Hasenour. Visitation will be held from 1:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. There will be a Prayer Service at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home by St. Anthony Parish. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday September 22, 2004 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The American Legion Post 493 will conduct the Military Grave Side Rites. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or your favorite charity.
