She was born on September 8, 1908 in Dubois County, her parents, Perry Oliver and Lily Mae (Ford) Thompson She Married Odes G. Anderson on November 16, 1927 , he preceded her in death on March 7, 1983. She was an avid homemaker and Quilter ,Avon Saleslady also worked at the Crane Naval Depot and the Travelers at Orleans, IN. Her memberships include the Central Christian Church in Huntingburg and prior member of the Cuzco Christian Church. Surviving is 1 son, Howard “Andy” Anderson, Jasper, IN 8 daughters; Mrs. James “Forsee” Ervin, North Salem, IN Faye (Welton) McWilliams, Indianapolis, IN Mrs. Francis “Rose” (Harris) Jackson, Apex, NC Mrs. Thomas “Janice” Webber, Houghton Lake, MI Shelly G. Bair, Jasper, IN Mrs. Pete “Lea” Bauer, Greenwood, IN Carmen Sue Perry, Jasper, IN Mrs. David “Brenda” Hales, Glenview, IL 18 grandchildren ;Bill Wilson, Donna Ganote, Stanley Welton, Brad Welton, Marshall Welton, Sheila Rae McNeely, Kim Elliott, Angie Merkley, Tom C. Webber, Julie Webber, Darla Talbert, Cindy Terwiske, Kris Heeke, Melanie Norman, Brian Bauer, Stacy Beasley, Brijin Hales and Jamie Hales. 7 step grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren 13 great great grandchildren Also several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are 1 grandson Leland Welton, 4 brothers, Kenneth, Kermit, Keith and Calvin Thompson and 1 sister Ava Lea Thompson. Funeral services for Alifair Anderson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (June 7, 2004) in the Central Christian Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow in the Crane Creek Cemetery in Orange County. The Rev. James Petty and the Rev. Darrell Wineinger will officiate. Friends may call from 11 – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher – Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Christian Church or to the Cane Creek Cemetery or to a favorite charity.
