WWII Army Veteran Retired as a U.S. Postal clerk from the Jasper Post Office. Memberships; St. Joseph Catholic Church. - V.F.W. Post # 673 - American Legion Post # 147 - Jasper Outdoor Recreation Association. Born at St. Anthony, Indiana on June 3, 1923. Parents; Bill and Elizabeth (Voegerl) Weber. Married to Louisa A. Lauwers on July 10, 1945 - she preceded him in death on November 6, 2001. Surviving are 2 daughters; Diana Birkle, Jasper, IN Mrs. Jeff “Julia” Meyer, Pittsboro, IN 5 grandchildren; Scott Meyer, Steven Meyer, Kristen Meyer Gentry, Kelly Birkle and Joey Birkle. 5 great grandchildren. 1 half brother; Leroy Voegerl, St. Anthony, IN 2 half sisters; Mrs. William “Viola” Berg, Jasper, IN Mrs. Herman “Rosie” Altymeyer, Jasper, IN Preceding him in death besides his wife are. 3 brothers; Othmar, Lawrence Voegerl and another brother Anthony Voegerl who died in infancy. 1 half brother; Norbert Voegerl. 1 step-sister; Mary Ann Hedinger. Funeral services for Oscar Weber will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (June 18, 2003) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct Military Grave Side Rites. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher - Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday by members of St. Joseph Parish at the funeral home.
